Charla en Inglés Climate Change Risks and Opportunities: What the Paris Agreement Means for Business A lecture by Michael Burger, Executive Director of the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia University chaired by Claudio Seebach, President of the Chilean Association of Power Companies Date: Thursday, April 19 Time: 8:30 -10:30 am Venue: Flacso Auditorium, Dag Hammarskjold 3269, Vitacura * Professor Burger, who teaches courses on Environmental and on Natural Resources Law at Columbia University, will discuss how current and upcoming regulations on climate change may materially affect business operations, growth potential, capital expenditures, cost structures, suppliers and customers; the prospects for a societal transition away from fossil fuel-based energy; and the physical risks that climate change could pose for companies' facilities and operations. Burger’s research and advocacy focuses on legal strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote climate change adaptation through pollution control, resource management, land-use planning and green finance. The Sabin Center, where he is based, develops legal techniques to fight climate change, trains students and lawyers in their use, and provides up-to-date resources on key topics in climate change law and regulation. *Parking Available at Parque Bicentenario or at Hotel Atton (Vitacura 3201).
